Oz mum forced teen daughter to perform sex acts in exchange for fuel

Sydney, April 16(ANI): An Australian woman has been charged for forcing her 13-year-old daughter back in 2004 to indulge in sexual acts with a truck driver in exchange for diesel.
The woman, whose name hasn’t been disclosed for legal reasons, was returning home, after taking her child to visit her dad on Father’s day, when she stopped the car on the Newcastle freeway.
Prosecutors allege she forced the girl into another cab with a man twice her age and siphoned diesel from the man’s truck in exchange.
The man kept the girl with him for seven hours before dropping her home.
It was apparently the third time the young girl had been forced into sexual acts with the man by her mother.
However, the truck driver has denied all accusations.
Also, the girl has stated in a victim statement, submitted to the court, that she does not want her mother to be punished, saying she has forgiven her.
“She has no real understanding of the culpability of the mother’s offending against her,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Crown prosecutor Gina O’Rourke, at Downing Centre District Court, as saying.
She added: “She has a desire for her mother to accept her and love her unconditionally.”
Meanwhile, judge Greg Woods inquired if it would serve best to imprison the mother.
He asked: “She is still a young girl, and what impact does it have on her if her mother cops a decade or so in prison?
“And what effect does that have in relation to the question of the deterrence … is that likely to deter other young children from coming forward at all?”
The court will give a sentence in next hearing. (ANI)
