IRCTC Indian Railway Offers Vintage Trips

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Indian Railways has announced that it will run six extra trips of the tourist train named Fairy Queen between Alwar and Delhi from April to June. The decision has been taken to cope with the public demand for the package, as it has been reported. The train will leave the Delhi Cantonment station at 9 a.m. and arrive at Alwar at 3 p.m. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation has churned out a two-day package for the people who will take the trip on the Fairy Queen. It will comprise of food, lodging, a visit to the famous Sariska National Park etc. The tourists will be provided accommodation at the Hotel Tiger Den.
The food supplied to the passengers on their journey to Alwar and return journey will be equivalent to the meal served to the passengers of Rajdhani express. Indian Railways wants to give the passengers of Fairy Queen the very best service. The drink, snacks and overall food supply will be managed by IRCTC. As one can expect, all these luxury will come at a steep price. The adult passengers will be charged INR 10,200 per head while the charge for children has been set at INR 5,100. The passengers have the option of booking a one way ticket at INR 7,100. It will also include the sightseeing. The Fairy Queen still runs on a vintage engine that was pressed into service for the first time in 1855.
The Indian Railways has offered several vintage rail tours for wooing the passengers who want a luxurious train tours in India. The fairy Queen has become quite popular among them and the Railways want to cash in on that opportunity.
