Brunei ASEAN Meet

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei, (GaeaTimes.com)- The upcoming ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) meet shall witness Indonesia leading the propaganda and the affairs as Brunei has given its way in accordance to Jakarta’s proposal.
Tueku Faizasyah, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Indonesia told the media that the country respects Brunei’s decision and shall go ahead to perform all their duties and responsibilities with utmost diligence. Tueku Faizasyah added that it was pre decided that the 2013 ASEAN shall be hosted at Jakarta. Reportedly, all the ministers attending the upcoming meet of Association of Southeast Asian Nations have already given their stamp of approval to the decision of Brunei passing over the charge of hosting the event to Indonesia. The decision of Indonesia taking over the charges to host the ASEAN meet has been in accordance to the request that was passed on earlier to Brunei from the Ministry Of Jakarta, that had the notifications of the upcoming meet and they feared that the future schedule is likely to suffer a clash.
Among all South East nations participating in the ASEAN meet, only Singapore has not yet given their stamp of approval to Indonesia meet instead of Brunei. Recalling the 16th ASEAN meet, Cambodia had also approached with the request of hosting the 2012 meet. Bangkok witnessed the signing of ASEAN Declaration. Among the first prominent nations to have signed the declaration were Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines. Brunei joined the group in the year of 1984 which was followed by Vietnam and then Myanmar and Cambodia.Together they made up 10 Asean Member States, with Ubaidillah Masli alongwith Rachel Thien as the secretariat.
