Summary Box: Dow Jones average just grazes 11,000

THE GOOD: The Commerce Department said February wholesale inventories rose 0.6 percent while sales gained 0.8 percent, both above expectations. Rising commodity prices also gave stocks a boost.

THE BAD: Fitch Ratings downgraded Greece’s debt, a reminder that the country’s fiscal crisis isn’t over.

THE NOT SO UGLY: The Dow Jones industrial average briefly above the 11,000 mark for the first time in 18 months. Major stock indexes rose for the sixth straight week. The Dow last had six consecutive gaining weeks in April 2009.
