DETROIT (GaeaTimes.com)- After the storm hit Detroit, Michigan recently, powers went off reportedly in as many as 40,000 homes and business establishment. People had to suffer a lot due to the sudden power cuts and the business establishments were hugely effected by the black out after the storm. However, on Sunday, Eileen Dixon the spokeswoman of DTE Energy Co. reportedly mentioned to the media that it is trying hard to restore power to the affected homes as soon as possible.
The Michigan customers of DTE Energy Co. have suffered the most during the weekend black out. On Sunday, Utility services worked through out Saturday and Sunday, to restore the power. The spokeswoman reportedly said that while initially 40,000 homes were without electric power, the company has been able to restore power at almost 33,000 homes. Around 6,500 homes are still in dark. However, the DTE has reportedly mentioned on Saturday, that the number of customers effected by the blackout was around 30,000.
The spokesman of the public utility service, Customer Energy on Saturday, said that around 24,000 of its customers were affected by the storm black out. However, on Sunday the utility service did not attend the call from a media source and kept silent about the development in the path of restoring power.
The weekend storm in Detroit has affected the local power services badly. Though at present no estimate as such is available about the amount of loss that the customers or the service providers have suffered during the storm, it is being speculated that the amount of loss in not negligible. The good news is however, that the DTE Energy Co. workers are working day and night to get back things to normal.
