The Status Update Got A Student Expelled From School

BREVARD COUNTY (GaeaTimes.com)- Think twice before updating your status message in a social networking website. According to reports the status message of a graduating senior of a high school student has reportedly landed him in trouble after his school English teacher took offense of whatever he wrote on it for the public to view. The student was suspended, though not yet expelled from his school for the offensive status message and the County Sheriff’s office is now looking into the charges and its seriousness.

The boy in discussion is a student of the Edgewood Junior/Senior High School in Merritt Island. He had allegedly mentioned in his status message that he would either kill his school English teacher or try to fire him out of the school. While the friends of the student in question believe that it was written in jest, the English teacher of the school Kathy Bowen has reportedly said that she cannot take the status update as a jest and feels insecure about her security. The status update which threats to kill the teacher, according to the Brevard County sheriff’s Office is a serious offense and the office is looking into the charges. The School District has not released any statement as of yet about the disciplinary actions that will be taken against the boy.

The Status Message update has landed the boy in serious trouble, as according to reports though he will be receiving his diploma certificate from the school the boy will not be allowed to participate in any of the school events. The Brevard County School Board is yet to decide whether it will expel the student for his status update.
