AGRA - To captivate maximum tourists during upcoming Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh’s Agra city is gearing up with construction activities in full swing.
According to Jafer Ali Tanveer, Vice Chairmen of Agra Development Authority, construction work is underway on a big scale.
“Since a large number of tourists will come here for commonwealth games we are making preparations for it on a large scale. It includes beautifying the monuments, repairing the roads, lighting work, decorative lighting work in traffic islands, developing some new park. We are constructing news bus, auto shelters, broadening the bridge which goes to MG Road so we are doing it on a large scale,” Tanveer said.
New Delhi is preparing to host more than 100,000 foreign visitors during the Oct. 3-14 event, and the national capital hopes to use the games to show itself off as a truly global city. By Brijesh r. Singh (ANI)
