BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- On Tuesday, Yum Brands Inc inaugurated its first Indian Taco Bell restaurant in Bangalore. The two other brands of the company, Pizza Hut and KFC are already doing great business all over the country. The company is aware about the religious diversity present in India and hence it will introduce a number of vegetarian menus in the Taco Bell restaurants in India. It will also refrain from serving beef based dishes as a large number of Indians do not consume beef owing to religious beliefs. The company has plans to keep the price really competitive.
Taco Bell restaurants in India are likely to become popular with urban population who already savor the delicacies and fast foods prepared by Pizza Hut and KFC. The company has already taken its Taco Bell brand to the countries like Spain, Dubai, Canada etc. It has more than 250 Taco Bell restaurants in the USA. It has aggressive plans for India and wants to open 1000 restaurants by the year 2015. The company management is of the opinion that The Indians will lap up the Mexican style palate offered by Yum Brands. It has developed India specific dishes like crunchy potato tacos and potato paneer burritos.
India has an expanding urban population and Yum Brands wants Taco Bell to tap the market as fast as possible. Owing to the hectic life style, the urban youth prefer fast food and this is an opportunity Yum Brands does not want to miss. More outlets will come up in metro cities in this year.
