World Water Day also takes a step to encourage and indulge all government and non government bodies to take up active roles in preventing water pollution which would be beneficial at large to save our planet.
World Water Day happens to be a noble initiative that was coined by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held in 1992. Following the conference the United Nations General Assembly had identified 22 March to be celebrated as the World Water Day, which came into force in the year 1993. All active states of the United Nations were called upon to set up and formulate plans for successful implementation of the idea in terms to the U.N. recommendations. In this case, The International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC) played an effective role by forming a subcommittee which went ahead in setting up a network support center so that the UN recommendations can be fulfilled without any hassle or hindrance.
