New York State Unemployment Status

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- According to the figures provided by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment status in New York remains almost unchanged with the state faring better compared to few other states, while remaining worse than some other states of United States.
Reports have revealed that an estimated 163,700 individuals have been included in the unemployment figures of New York with the state wise unemployment escalating to an average 1.7 per cent in the same period of time. Meanwhile, another report has stated that the unemployment rate in the New York City witnessed a decrease in the month of January this year to 10.4 per cent from 10.5 per cent. However, the jobless rate in New York City has stayed much higher compared to the average rate of the state of New York, which stands at 8.8 per cent.
At the same time, the New York State Department of Labor also has some good news for the New York state as the total number of private jobs in the state has supposedly escalated by 35,000. Meanwhile, the NYS Labor Department also highlighted that one-half of the 30,000 job losses in the financial services sector in the state took place in the securities and the commodity contracts industry.
The Labor Department recently revealed that the rate of unemployment increased in around thirty states in the month of January, which points out that the job scenario in the state continues to remain quite bleak. However, the reports can be considered to be much better than the month of December, during which increase in the employment rate was witnessed in around 43 states.
