Omar Abdullah wants youth from across the border to return for normal life

ALASTANG - Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wishes that youths to return home from across the border and benefit from new policies drafted by his government with the aid of the central regime.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a water treatment plant at Alastang, Abdullah said: “We have made New Delhi to agree that we should pave the way for Kashmiri brothers who are across the border, to return back and lead normal lives in their houses.”

“Coalition is committed to rehabilitate those youth who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and are living in miserable condition in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur. We will ensure they return and live a dignified life,” he added.

Abdullah also noted that human rights violations will not be tolerated at any cost and who so ever is responsible will be dealt as per law.

“When there used to be human rights violation, no one accepted that justice would be done. Everyone believed that it would be curbed by using law. But our coalition government of the National Conference-Congress parties has proved through our action that when there would be a violation of human rights, law would be used to punish the guilty. This has been done for the first time,” he said.

Referring to the arrest of BSF Commandant, R K Birdi, in connection with the killing of Nishat teenager Zahid Farooq, Omar said, “It is for the first time in last 21-years that anyecurity agency has handed over its officer to our police for investigation.” (ANI)
