Oil prices settle above $82
Oil settled above $82 on Wednesday after rising as high as $83. Prices got a bump in morning trading following the government’s weekly crude inventory report, which showed a smaller increase in supplies than expected. Prices also got some support from OPEC raising its outlook for world oil demand.
Here’s a breakdown of how energy prices traded Wednesday:
Crude: Rose 60 cents to settle at $82.09 a barrel.
Heating oil: Rose 2.64 cents to settle at $2.1162 a gallon.
Gasoline: gained 2.48 cents to settle at $2.2851 a gallon.
Natural gas: rose 4.3 cents to settle at $4.559 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE futures exchange:
Brent crude: rose 57 cents to settle at $80.48.
