After planting the kiss full on the mouth of the rather surprised Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock had turned to the assembled- and stunned- audience, blushing visibly before saying that she found Meryl Streep to be a great kisser.
This time however, referring to the Sandra Bullock Meryl Streep kiss, the best actress winner commented not on the kiss itself, but rather how the experience made her realize what a fun person Meryl Streep is, in addition to being an outstanding actress. She commented that kiss would not have made it to the headlines if it had not been Meryl Streep, who threw the press off their guard with the easy manner in which she dealt with the whole incident.
