LOS ANGELES, (GaeaTimes.com)- Jeff Bridges thanked his father Lloyd Bridges in his Oscar acceptance speech as he received the best actor award for his performance in “Crazy Heart”. According to the actor, it is from his late father Lloyd Bridges that the former has learned the art of acting. The late actor Lloyd Bridges and actress Dorothy Bridges are the parents of the Oscar winning actor Jeff Bridges.
The acceptance speech of the Oscar ceremony is one such place where the winners take the opportunity to thank all those people who have contributed to their success. Jeff Bridges also took the life time opportunity to show his gratitude to his late parents who had contributed to his success, according to him. The actor said that when he was a kid, his actor father Lloyd Bridges would sit with him on bed and teach him the skills of acting. It was that basic art technique the actor feels which has helped him to grow up as an actor and finally make it big. His gratitude to his late parents and towards his father Lloyd Bridges specially, seemed genuine. He said that it is his parents who have made him what he is.
Jeff Bridges, apart from remembering his father Lloyd Bridges, also remembered his late mother and thanked his wife, who has supported him in his journey so far. He said that this award is not only for him but for his parents who had loved the showbiz and encouraged their son to venture into it. Jeff Bridges’ acceptance speech seemed to be a son’s tribute to his parents and family.
