Summary Box: Rates
HOLDING PATTERN: Interest rates made only modest moves in the Treasury market after concerns over Greece’s debt problems eased. Investors expect Germany to orchestrate a bailout.
OTHER DRIVERS: More companies said they were planning to buy rivals. That’s a sign of confidence in the economy and takes away some of Treasurys’ appeal.
CONCERN REMAINS: Traders remain cautious ahead of minutes due Wednesday from the Federal Reserve’s last meeting as well as economic reports on services industries. The biggest questions surround the government’s February jobs report due Friday.
