Summary Box: Metals, energy up as dollar retreats
WHAT PUSHED COMMODITIES HIGHER: Commodities mostly rose Friday, climbing throughout the day as the dollar retreated from the peaks it reached in the early morning.
HOW DID COPPER DO: Copper continued its two-week surge, rising 7.35 cents to $3.379 a pound. Copper has gained 18.3 percent over the past two weeks.
WHAT ABOUT OIL: Like copper, oil has also been climbing for two weeks. Crude rose 75 cents to $79.81 a barrel.
