THE RESULTS: Abercrombie & Fitch Co.’s fourth-quarter profit fell 31 percent from a year ago, as the teen retailer’s results were dragged down by costs to close its Ruehl stores. Still, adjusted results surpassed analysts’ expectations.
MEN VS. WOMEN: Abercrombie’s men’s business has been outpacing women’s over the past year, though its women’s clothing division is making some progress.
LOOKING FORWARD: Abercrombie aims to have its operating profit margin be at least 15 percent for 2012, fueled in part by international expansion.
