NEW DELHI - A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court on Monday issued bailable warrant against Haryana MLA Abhay Singh Chautala for failing to appear before it in a disproportionate assets case.

Abhay is the son of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala.

Special CBI Judge P S Teji directed Abhay to appear before the court on February 22.

The court took the coercive action against Chautala after CBI prosecutor A K Dutt submitted that summons issued against him (Abhay) could not be served despite their efforts.

On December 2009 the CBI had filed a chargesheet against Chautala and his brother Ajay who is also member of the Haryana Assembly.

On February 2, the court had issued summons against Chautala brothers after taking cognisance on the chargesheet filed by the CBI.

Meanwhile, the court granted interim bail to Ajay Chautala and other co-accused who appeared before it. (ANI)
