KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Hindu Sangam (MHS) has declared war on alcoholism as it is affecting the country’s younger generation.
Council youth leader Arun Doraisamy said under-aged drinking should be an offence punishable by two days in the lock-up.
He said a tier-based tax must be enforced based on alcohol content, instead of the standard ten percent now.
He also called for the setting up of a centre in the long-term to handle prevention, research and rehabilitation, The Star reports. (ANI)
