India looks forward to the ‘D-Day’ of dialogue with Pakistan

NEW DELHI - India on Friday expressed satisfaction over the meeting between Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and Pakistan High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik, and said that it is looking forward to the resumption of dialogues with Pakistan.
Briefing the media after the meeting, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said: “The discussions were positve, the discussion were constructive both Foreign Secretary and High Commissioner discussed the issues related to the upcoming meeting at the foreign secretary level in detail.”
“We are waiting a reply from Pakistan and a relevant date for the resumption of dialogue with Pakistan,” he added.
Earlier on Thursday, India indicated the resumption of dialogues at the level of foreign secretaries with Pakistan and said a key issue that could be discussed is counter-terrorism.
According to sources, India would approach the talks with a positive frame of mind to create an atmosphere of peace and stability in the region.
“We won’t pre-judge the outcome of talks,” the sources said. (ANI)
