KOCHI - To honour the pachyderms, a few Indian and foreign cartoonists have prepared a special book on elephants, which was formally released by the local temple elephant here on Thursday.
An elephant named ‘Rudran’ released the book titled ‘Anna Vara’, compiled by Kerala Cartoon Academy.
The organisers claim that this is for the first time an elephant released a cartoon book on elephants.
“It’s amazing we decided to come out with our collection of elephant cartoons. In our collection, we have near about 200 cartoons from 1920 up till date,” said Sudeer Nath, a member of cartoon academy, Kerala.
In this book, there are over 200 cartoons drawn by famous Indian cartoonists, and many foreign cartoonists from China, Ukraine, USA and Russia.
In this book most of the Indian cartoonists have made elephant cartoons on famous Indian politicians and other leaders, and foreign cartoonists have drawn on social issues. By Juhan amuel(ANI)
