Meira Kumar to inaugurate 74th conference of presiding officers of legislative bodies

BHOPAL - Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar will inaugurate the 74th conference of the presiding officers of legislative bodies here today.
Vice Chairman of Rajya Sabha K Rehman Khan and Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Karia Munda are expected to attend the conference along with speakers and deputy speakers of 36 legislative bodies.
The conference is being held in Bhopal after a gap of 20 years.
It is reported that topics like role of the speaker in administration, creation of smaller states and self-assessment by legislature will be discussed at the conference.
Meira Kumar will inaugurate two-exhibitions on this occasion.
A symposium on urgency in addressing the needs of environment and conservation of wildlife will be held in today’s conference.
The conference will come to an end on February 6. (ANI)
