Praful expresses regret to Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan for breaking of “Ganga”

NEW DELHI - Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel called up Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan on Friday morning to personally express his regret over the damage done to latter’s treasured musical instrument by Air India.

Ustan Amjad Ali Khan treasured the Sarod for over 32 years and had performed in various function of high importance with the same musical instrument.It was a teakwood instrument, weighed 15 kg, which got broken by the national carrier while in transit.

“I am honoured that Praful Patel personally called over the incident. The instrument called “Ganga” has been with me for over 32. It is like my heart has been taken out. I think the staff (of the airline) should be trained to handle fragile things,” said Khan to a private channel.

“It is unfortunate that the incident has taken place. It should not take place in any Airlines,” said Praful Patel. (ANI)
