Delta Sigma Theta Founders Remembered on Delta Sigma Theta Foundation Day

SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- As a Tradition, the Delta Sigma Theta founders are remembered on Delta Sigma Theta Foundation Day which is today, January 13th. The Delta Sigma Theta works as an non-profit sorority consisting of women who have had college educations. These women together work for the good of the general public and more specifically for the African-American community. Not a penny of the income of this sorority is utilized for or by the members. The main areas where the sorority functions is Economic development, Educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health and political awareness involvement.

The Delta Sigma Theta Founders consisted of 22 women from the Howard University who are remembered on this Delta Sigma Theta Foundation Day. This sorority’s doors are open to anyone who meets the requirements. Unlike some other sororities, this one does not discriminate on the basis of caste, sex, religion etc.

On the day of Delta Sigma Theta’s foundation it is only fair that we dedicate our article to the founders. After being incorporated in the year 1930, the first public meet was the Women’s suffrage March in the capital of USA- Washington DC in the month of March. Some of the places where it is located includes Colorado, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming (Central Region); Rhodes Island, Vermont, Maine, Delaware (Eastern Region); Korea, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii, Japan, Alaska, California (Far west Region); Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin (Midwest region); Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina (South Atlantic Region); Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi(Southern Region) and Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas, Jamaica, Louisiana in the Southwest region.
