Amar Singh resigns from Samajwadi Party

NEW DELHI - Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Wednesday resigned from all the posts he held in the party.

Singh is currently taking rest in Dubai after undergoing medical treatment for his ill health.

Speaking to a private news channel Singh said: “At the age of 53, I am entitled to earned leave. After 20 years of hard work, I want to look after my family and my children.”

After Ferozabad by elections there was speculation that the relation between Singh and party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has worsened.

But he denied such speculations and said there are “No differences with Mulayam. I am very grateful to him for all the opportunities he has given to me.”

Earlier, Singh used interviews and even blog to voice his displeasure against the way things are being run in the Samajwadi Party.

He had also openly said he was hurt that Mulayam Singh had not visited him in Singapore where he was undergoing treatment. (ANI)
