NEWARK, N.J. (GaeaTimes.com)- Passengers who were scheduled to board flights from the Newark Airport on Sunday evening had faced immense trouble after an unidentified man breached the security measures of the airport. According to the reports, an intruder had attempted to avoid the scanners of the airport and headed toward the Terminal C checkpoint, which alarmed the officials. It made them freeze the entire operation from this terminal and stranded the passengers without any fault of their own. Passing through this terminal is prohibited and authorities anticipated that the man had some vile intentions. Airport officials did not want to take any risk and rechecked all passengers, which caused a lockdown in the airport.

The Newark Airport lockdown caused by the checkpoint intruder not only affected the passengers of this airport but also affected people who were scheduled to board flights from other airports. Newark Airport in New Jersey is among the busiest airports and the cancellation of flights in this airport affected the air-traffic greatly. However, the latest report of the incident does not have any indication of terror probe in the airport.

According to the spokesperson of the Transportation Security Administration, the airport officials were trying to trace the man who was moving toward the checkpoint and caused the problem. However, the intruder had suddenly disappeared among the people present in the airport and they could not figure out whether he had returned for the security checks. To avoid any kind of accident and assure the safety of the passengers, they had declared a lockdown in the Newark Airport.
