NEW DELHI - Former Andhra Pradesh Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari allegedly involved in a sex scandal arrived here today, where he is likely to present his stand over the issue.

Tiwari on Saturday sent his resignation to President Pratibha Patil citing health concerns. s per media reports, a criminal complaint has been lodged with the police by a lawyer seeking Tiwari’s prosecution for offences under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and other relevant provisions of the CrPc.

An advocate Gopala Krishna Kalanidhi has reportedly contended that since he no longer holds the office of governor, he is ‘open for criminal prosecution for molestation of women and abuse of Constitutional office for personal benefits’.

A local TV channel on Friday ran clips showing Tiwari caught on camera in a compromising position with three women. The clips ran for about an hour before the Hyderabad High Court restrained the channel from airing the video.

Allegations of extramarital affairs are not new in Tiwari’s six-decades-long political career. Tiwari is also a respondent in a paternity suit filed by a man in the Delhi High Court claiming to be his natural son. (ANI)
