Mumbai News: Accident Occurs Outside Oberoi Mall, Goregaon

Mumbai, India (GaeaTimes.com)- A road accident along the busy streets of Mumbai claimed another live as a young college student lost his life outside the Oberoi Mall at Goregaon late last week. The accident occurred when the victim was traveling in his bike which suddenly got hit by another vehicle.

In the accident that took place near the Oberoi Mall at Goregaon, the victim has been identified as 23 year old Nayan Anderkar, who was riding along with his friend Sameer Ahire, when the incident took place. Although, Nayan Andekar died on the spot after receiving fatal injuries, his 20 year old friend somehow managed to escape death and suffered few injuries. Sameer Ahire was taken to a nearby hospital and presently he is recuperating from the injuries at a private medical facility based in Goregoan.

Initial investigation had revealed that the accident took place when the victims were riding the motorcycle just outside Oberoi Mall at Goregaon while they were going to college. While the bike was on its way, it was reportedly slammed by the van which resulted in the death of one of the riders and severely injured his companion.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle which caused the accident, has been taken into custody by the cops. 30 year old Dinesh Yadav, who was behind the wheels of the van, has been charged with rash as well as negligent driving. Moreover, it has also been revealed that police authorities are investigating whether the driver of the van was under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place near the Oberoi Mall at Goregaon.
