JOHOR - Several Malay Indian women in the state of Johor are seeking divorce, according to a report in the Malaysia Nanban newspaper.

The paper said this would not only become a problem for the community but also greatly affect the future of their children.

The report said the women seeking divorce had been married for between six months and 10 years, with children of ages ranging from one to nine years.

The paper also that while previously husbands approached law firms to divorce their wives, it was the other way round now.

It was reported that about 80 percent of the women seeking divorce were working in Singapore.

Although many women refused to reveal the reason for wanting a divorce, it is believed some of the husbands were not employed and depended on their wives’ incomes. (ANI)
