Delhi CM opens new traffic Operations Control Center (OCC)

NEW DELHI - Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday said the commissioning of a new Operations Control Center (OCC) at the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) would ensure improvement of the city’s surface transport system.

She also expressed confidence about it Optimising the flow of vehicular traffic, ensuring the safety and convenience of road users and the effective use of a universally reachable efficient mass transit system.

Dikshit said that the OCC had a very sophisticated monitoring and control system for the efficient management of traffic flow.

Delhi State Transport Minister Arvinder Singh, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), S.N. Sahai, the Commissioner (Transport) R.K. Verma and the Chairman (Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Naresh Kumar were present on the occasion.

Dikshit also inaugurated Smart Card Based Driving License Issue System at I.P. Depot.

She said that DIMTS has successfully implemented and operationalized the online learner license test as well as the Sarathi software for issue of learner and driving licenses in all 13 zonal offices. (ANI)
