Wajahat Habibullah to head National Commission for Minorities

NEW DELHI - Wajahat Habibullah, India’s first Chief Information Commissioner, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM).

A 1968-batch IAS officer, Habibullah will hold office for a period of three years from the date of his assumption of office.

The commission has been headless since the retirement of Mohd Shafi Qureshi in September last year.

The Central Government has also nominated Keki N. Daruwalla as a Member of the National Commission for Minorities. (ANI)
