NEW DELHI - Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra has said that the increase of circle rate by 100 percent will prove to be a death blow on the poor and lower middle class people of Delhi.

In a statement, Professor Malhotra said that the 100 percent increase in the registration charges for land in JJ Colonies and unauthorized colonies is the drive launched by the Government to uproot the poor and lower middle class people from Delhi.

“During the last revision of circle rates, category-wise rates were fixed for the property. However, this time a uniform increase of 100% has been affected,” he mentioned.

Professor Malhotra further said the due to the high price and escalation in bank interest rate, this increased circle rate will make it impossible for the poor and lower middle class people to make their shelter in Delhi as impossible task.

“In every posh colony there are clusters of JJ colonies and ‘bustees’ and imposing a uniform circle rate for all categories equally is a foolish step,” he said. (ANI)
