WASHINGTON - US First Lady Michelle Obama has said she is committed to campaigning for her husband Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential elections.

“Whenever it’s time to campaign and they tap me on the shoulder, I’ll be right there,” Politico quoted Michelle, as saying.

Till that time, she would reportedly focus on helping military families to have better lives because their plight has moved her so much that she planned to take up the issue to be addressed seriously.

“I’m rolling up my sleeves to get that work done. It’s one of the reasons why supporting military families and the health and nutrition of our soldiers means so much to me,” she said.

The White House calls the first lady an invaluable asset.

During the mid-term polls, Michelle had incorporates Obama family experiences with the political message her husband and Democrats were trying to covey to their voters.

While campaigning for Obama in 2008, Michelle had told voters that it was never about putting one man in the White House, but about “building a movement for change” that lasts beyond one year and one campaign.(ANI)
