JAUNPUR - A school principal set herself on fire outside the residence of the school manager in Shahganj locality of Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur city on Thursday, accusing him of sexually harassing her.

The condition of the woman, who is being treated for multiple burn injuries, is reported to be ‘extremely serious’.

The lady has left a suicide note blaming the school manager for prompting her to take the extreme step.

“The note said the school manager was sexually harassing her for a long time on false assurances to marry her,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SK Bhagat.

“Preliminary investigations reveal the principal had learnt that the manager was only interested in an illicit relationship and not in marrying her,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police here has stepped up efforts to arrest the manager. (ANI)
