Woman electrocuted on Pak village council’s orders

BAHAWALPUR - A 22-year-old woman was electrocuted here on the orders of the village council) after she was accused of eloping with her cousin and rejecting her proposed arranged marriage.

Her relatives killed Saima, a resident of Mouza Haakrra, Mussafar Khana, 30 kilometers from the district headquarters, The Nation quoted police officer Afzal Lodhi, as saying.

Other relatives claimed Saima had committed suicide by drinking a poisonous spray as she was not happy over her proposed arranged marriage.

Police have arrested Saima’s father, Abdul Majeed, and four others in the case.

Saima’s marriage was to be married off on Saturday to Saeed. (ANI)
