LONDON - For most superstitious people, 13 is a number that should be avoided. But a new survey has revealed that 243 is Britain’s unluckiest house number.

Statistics compiled by Confused.com showed that residents living behind that door are more than twice as likely to make a claim on their home insurance policy than those at any other door number, reports the Telegraph.

Almost 45 percent of people living at number 243 have made a claim in the past four years, while ahead of number 201 with 36 percent and number one with 34 percent.

In comparison just 18 percent of people living at number 13 claimed on their insurance during the same period.

Of the 10 unluckiest addresses, seven were in the hundreds - numbers 190, 240, 241, 221, 217, 218 and 121.

“Some home insurance providers estimate entertaining at home left a whopping #820 million bill last year. Judging by our numbers it looks as if 243 is a popular place for a party,” said Gareth Kloet, head of home insurance at confused.com. (ANI)
