WASHINGTON - A woman in the US was sexually assaulted in Germantown by a man who is suspected of having raped her seven months earlier.

The 68-year-old woman was shown a composite sketch of the suspect that had been drawn after she was attacked in June, and she said there was nothing she wanted to change based on seeing the man a second time.

“We have a very dangerous individual out here, and we need the public’s help,” the Washington Post quoted Detective Patrick McNerney of Montgomery County police as saying.

“We really need to get this person off the street,” he stated.

McNerney, a 30-year police veteran, said he has never come across a case in which someone raped a stranger after entering her home and returned to sexually assault her again.

“It’s disheartening that it happened the first time. It’s almost beyond words that it happened to the same person again,” he said.

McNerney said that the victim has remained “very stoic” even after the second attack but that she is extremely upset by the assaults.

“He’s shown a tendency to prey on people who can’t necessarily defend themselves,” McNerney added. (ANI)
