Ali-Reza Pahlavi Commits Suicide

BOSTON (GaeaTimes.com)- Ali-Reza Pahlavi, the younger son of former Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was found dead at his home in Boston, Massachusetts on Tuesday. The oldest son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi released a statement in his social networking site and announced the news to the media. His family members are of the opinion that the younger Prince committed suicide as he could not overcome the depression of his father’s exile and death. Ali-Reza Pahlavi was 44 year old.

Nazie Eftekhari, who works in Reza Pahlavi’s office told a reputed media source that Ali-Reza Pahlavi’s departure from Iran, the death of his father and sister left an indelible mark in his life and his depression grew more with time. Ahmad Oveyssi, their family spokesman said that Ali-Reza Pahlavi died from a gun shot wound which shows that it is an apparent case of suicide. Reza Pahlavi wrote on his website that his beloved brother took his own life at his home. He stated that like other Iranian people, he was disturbed by the present political scenario of Iran and also he could not cope up with the death of his father and sister as he was very close to them.

Reza Pahlavi maintained that his brother “succumbed” to the depression and killed himself. Though the law enforcement officials did not confirm the news of Ali-Reza Pahlavi’s death but they said that they are investigating the death of a man who died in an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound. Ali-Reza Pahlavi is survived by his mother, brother and two sisters Farahnaz and Leila. His family has not announced anything about the funeral arrangements yet.
