LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (GaeaTimes.com)- The UK Navy is gearing up to launch its largest ever nuclear submarine with impressive arsenal and combat capabilities. The HMS Ambush is powerful enough to hit enemy targets 1600 km away with fire guided missiles. The huge submarine comes with a powerful nuclear reactor that is capable of providing power to Southampton city. Amazing as it may sound to some. The submarine will not require refueling in its life span. The super sub as the Royal Navy calls it can make drinking water and oxygen from saline seawater so that its 98 crews on board can survive under distressing situations. The submarine can circumnavigate the earth without requiring to surface above water even once. The 7400 tonne sub is 12 storeys high and 291 foot long. It was built at a whopping cost of 1.2-billion-pound.

The warship HMS Ambush can cover 500 miles per day on an average. It is much bigger than two other subs named Swiftsure and Trafalgar but is more quiet in operation. The navy claims it moves so swiftly that enemy ships will not be able to trace its presence easily. The warship will carry a blend of Tomahawk cruise missiles as well as Spearfish heavyweight torpedoes to target enemy submarines and ships. This submarine has most technologically advanced radar and sonar devices that are capable of tracing enemy ships from as far as 3000 nautical miles. Therefore, defeating it will be an uphill task for the enemies.

HMS Ambush is going to be commissioned for a period of 25 years. The UK Navy is confident that the warship will add to its strength.
