SIMDEGA - Maoists carried out a poster campaign asking people not to participate in the village council polls in Jharkhand’s Simdega District on Thursday.

Ultras pasted hundreds of posters and flyers on walls, trees and buildings.

The posters contained pro-Maoist literature across the town, urging locals to stay away from the ongoing election process.

Superintendent of Police, Simdega, Vinod Gupta, said the police are investigating the matter.

“We have received credible information that some Maoist ultras have pasted posters across the town to spread propaganda to influence public opinion on the upcoming village council polls in the region,” said Gupta. (ANI)
