LONDON - A survey has found that steak and chips are the all time favourite dish of Briton’s, beating spaghetti bolognese to second and chicken tikka masala to third place.

The survey by Kenwood, who make the Kenwood Chef food mixer, polled more than 1,000 people on their favourite foods of the past six decades.

The fourth place was taken by pizza, the fifth by prawn cocktail, and the sixth place was taken by tomato soup.

Completing the top ten was braised lamb shank at seventh, garlic bread at eighth, chilli con carne at ninth, and Lasagne at tenth.

“By looking at the food people were eating and enjoying, it’s easy to see what was happening in popular culture, travel and technology,” the Daily Express quoted Mark Swift, of Kenwood, as saying. (ANI)
