Government released over 368 crores as disaster relief in November

NEW DELHI - Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Tuesday said that during the month of November, the government had released an amount of Rs.368.01 crore from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for Bihar to help the government there deal with the after effects of drought and a cyclonic storm.

Presenting his monthly report for November, he also said that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams comprising 612 personnel and 71 boats were deployed for emergency response and rescue in the flood-affected States of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Kerala and West Bengal.

The home ministry, he said, also hosted the Third Trilateral Meeting of Experts of India, Russia and China (IRC) in New Delhi. A total of 30 experts from the three countries participated in the meeting. (ANI)
