Narender Modi greets people on Gujarati New Year

AHMEDABAD - Gujarat Chief Minister Narender Modi here on Sunday wished people on the eve of Gujarati New Year that begins after the festival of lights Diwali.

Modi today arrived at a temple in Ahmedabad city and offered his prayers, while priests chanted hymns.

He greeted people and wished them a happy new year.

“New year begins with Diwali in Gujarat. I wish everybody Happy New Year. I wish the new year brings happiness, peace and prosperity to you and your family,” said Modi.

In Gujarat, there is a tradition of starting new personal or business ventures with the dawn of the New Year. (ANI)
