PLEASANT PLAINS (GaeaTimes.com)- Midland School District’s former Vice President Clint McCance who came under fire for his anti-gay remark on a social networking site has submitted his resignation to school board yesterday. The Midland School District superintendent spokesman announced the news to the media. The Superintendent of the school Dean Stanley said that the school board unanimously voted and accepted Clint McCance’s resignation.

Clint McCance sparked off controversy when he wrote on the homepage of the social networking site Facebook that gay and lesbians should commit suicide. He even used the term “queer” and “fag” repeatedly in his post and stated that he would have disowned his own children if they turned out to be homosexual. However, the school representative said that Clint McCance wrote in his resignation letter that he did not represent his school or his position when he wrote those lines on the homepage of his social networking site. He also apologized to the school district and everyone else whom he has offended through his statement in his resignation letter.

Clint McCance also maintained in his letter that he hopes after his resignation things will be back to normalcy and he did not want to hurt anyone through his anti-gay statement. He added that he does not support “bullying” but he learnt form his mistakes and hopes that everybody learnt “something” from his experience as well. In one of his interviews to a reputed source, Clint McCance said that he has become a much better person now than what he was a week ago and he wished good-luck to everyone in the school district. He also said that he has sent his wife and kids out of state as he was concerned about their safety. However, he admitted in the end that he was “reaping” what he had sown.
