West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval 2010 Pulls In Huge Crowd

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Sunday night the streets of Los Angeles were thronged by the thousands who participated in the 23rd Annual West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval 2010. The big night was marked by some wild costumes and hours of revelry and even a Guinness World Record. The organizers of the huge event claimed that this was the biggest Halloween celebration on the street in the world.

The event kick started at 6pm and continued till 11pm. To start off the proceeding there was a Carnaval March that started from La Cienega and Santa Monica boulevards. The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval 2010 also celebrated the 35th year of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and there was also the ‘Time Warp Dance’ that took place at 10:45pm. The dance took up all the six performance stages simultaneously to create the Guinness World Record.

Prince Poppycock who also performed at the Carnaval was adjudged the Mayor of the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval 2010. The finalist of ‘America’s Got Talent’ got a huge response from the Californian audience at the venue. The organizers also ensured that the traffic tie ups in the area were resolved quickly by diverting and closing off some of the roads since the afternoon. West Hollywood’s John Heilman said in a statement to the media that this years West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval will be as unique and diverse as the city itself. He added that with shows ranging from the Rocky Horror Picture show to the performances by Momma and the Wandering Marionettes, it will be a truly West Hollywood style celebration.
