SRINAGAR - Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a timber smuggler for smuggling and instigating stone-pelting.

The Deputy Inspector General, South Kashmir, Shafqat Ahmad Watali said that police succeeded in arresting Nazir Ahmad Lone alias Nazir Konda of Shopian on Saturday evening.

Nazir had developed a modus operandi for carrying out timber smuggling in which he used to instigate stone-pelting on police by funding some of his associates.

He had created pandemonium in the area and diverted the attention of the police to the restoration of law and order.
