Cop dies, four injured in Kashmir road mishap

SRINAGAR - A police constable died and four policemen were injured in two different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley on Sunday.

Javaid Ahmad Mir, police constable and a resident of Dooru, Khansahib, died in a road accident when his motorcycle hit a truck near JVC Bemina area near Srinagar.

Bilal Ahmad Bhat, the pillion mate, suffered injuries in the incident.

Bhat was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.

In another incident of road accident three policemen were injured after three vehicles including a police vehicle carrying Darbar Move staff of Police Head Quarters collided near Chandhara crossing National Highway near Awantipora area.

Three officials namely Head constable Ram Prasad, Slection Grade Constable Satpal Singh and Constable Ganesh Datt were shifted to sub-district hospital in Pampore for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard. (ANI)
