CHICAGO (GaeaTimes.com)- Storm coupled with extremely strong winds resulted in unexpected flight cancellation at the Chicago O’Hare Airport and the fliers were put into trouble. The ripple effect continued to hamper regular flight operations. The predictions of the met office do not seem to be on the positive side either. As it is being seen the Midwest states in USA are going through some of the heaviest and powerful storms ever recorded in recent history. As per the report given by the Chicago Department of Aviation, the airport had to issue Ground Stop notice. As many as 125 flights were disrupted. The inclement weather brought the operations at the airport at a standstill.

At the O’Hare airport in Chicago the flight operations started later but it is natural that returning to normalcy would require a lot of time. It has been predicted that the incoming flights will be delayed for over 2 hours where as the flights departing from the airports will get delayed by at least 60 minutes or so. As long as the rain and strong winds are there the operations are going to be affected to an extent.

The National Weather Service has also said that it will take a while for the Chicago O’Hare Airport to get back to normalcy. When the storm lashed the region the two runways of the airport could function for flight arrival and only one was used for taking off. Needless to say this caused lot of problem for the fliers. It is a major airport for some of the busiest US airlines. Things are slowly getting back to normalcy suggest the latest updates.
