Brainy best friends aged 5 and 6 join Mensa

LONDON - Young Einsteins Georgia, 5, and Harry, 6, have joined Mensa, the nation’s intellectual elite open only to people whose IQ is in the top two per cent of the population.

Georgia, five, is the youngest girl to join the elite society while Harry, six, is one of the youngest boys.

In 2007, when she was just two, Georgia scored a genius-rated IQ of 152. Harry has a genius IQ of 144.

Both live in Aldershot, Hampshire, and became best friends after being brought together by a chance comment made by a colleague of Harry’s father, Simon.

Georgia’s mother, Lucy, knows one of the senior partners at the solicitors firm where Simon works through a charity that she runs.

After learning that Harry had become a member of Mensa, Simon’s colleague told him about Lucy and Georgia and suggested he get in touch.

The parents spoke to one another and later introduced their “young Einsteins” who hit it off.

“It’s nice to meet up with someone who understands what it is like to have an intelligent child and the challenges that can bring - as well as the pleasures,” the Daily Express quoted Chapple as saying.

Harry’s special gift is for maths.

“He sits on YouTube and watches maths videos and how to do spreadsheets - and then he will do them himself,” Chapple said.

A spokesman for Mensa said yesterday, “It is not surprising they have become friends, after all, great minds think alike.” (ANI)
