Maoists open fire at passenger bus in Bijapur

BIJAPUR - The Maoists opened fire at a bus carrying both civilians and police personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur District on Wednesday.

The bus driver sped up when the firing began.

Three bullets hit the bus denting it. No casualty was, however, reported into the incident.

“A group was returning to Usur and near Awapalli, the bus was fired at. Policemen reached Awapalli safely, the policemen are not hurt,” said B. P. Rajbhanu, Additional Superintendent of Police of Bijapur. By Shiv Sankar Sarathi (ANI)
